Ashorne Hill – Reimagining a Commercial Campus
Long-term architectural stewardship, refurbishment and sensitive contemporary intervention.
We act as preferred architect to Ashorne Hill, providing ongoing architectural advice across its estate and supporting the continued development and improvement of this distinctive Warwickshire setting.
This project centred on the transformation of an existing CLASP Model 4B building, where a comprehensive refurbishment significantly improved both its architectural appearance and energy performance, giving an ageing building a renewed identity and extending its useful life.
Alongside this, we worked with a local interior designer to completely rethink the restaurant and hospitality spaces. A new mezzanine floor increased capacity, while a dramatic two-storey glazed extension and upper-level balconies opened the building towards the landscape, allowing guests to enjoy the far-reaching views across the Warwickshire countryside.
The proximity of the original listed house required a particularly sensitive architectural response, with the proposals successfully navigating the Listed Building Consent process while introducing a clearly contemporary addition.
The result combines adaptive reuse, improved environmental performance and commercial functionality, demonstrating how thoughtful investment in existing buildings can transform the experience of a place while respecting the character and significance of its historic setting.
