We have experience of building with timber frame construction and thermal mass masonry construction designing all our work by assessing the energy efficiency and how energy use can be minimised.

We were delighted to be awarded this commission in 2006 to design a single energy efficient dwelling in a rear garden site adjacent to C S Lewis' former family home. Significant planning and ecological challenges were overcome to allow this self build property to take place, using a central thermal mass core to act a passive solar gain element to allow the property to be incredibly efficient
sustainable remodelling in oxford 2007
Extensive Alterations to a property in Oxford to improve sustainable credentials. The building was designed to maximise solar gain as a heat store and super insulating exposed areas. This property also has a lovely hydropool in the basement, powered by PV panels on the south facing roof. The rear of the property overlooks a lake beyond to provide a very tranquil composition

We have recently completed this development for a private client who purchased the property 12 months ago for its stunning location. We carried out a comprehensive remodelling exercise to this 1950's property to extend and improve its thermal efficiency, whilst creating a contemporary solution within this local conservation area.

This replacement dwelling is currently on site and has been developed in a contemporary style to maximise green belt restrictions, whilst creating a distinctive property. The building is to benefit from massive insulation and thermal mass and a heat recovery system. The south elevation is providing solar gain and vertical PV panels will provide on-site energy generation.
