belgrade theatre restoration 2007
As a project by our recently acquired practice, we have been architects for several projects for the Theatre during the last ten years or so. We were delighted to be appointed to design the major restoration work on the original building, which first opened its doors in 1958
The listed building was carefully restored to its original condition with some decorative features in the foyer remade. The bar areas, cafe and restaurant were included in the works along with new mechanical air handling systems in the main theatre. An exhibition space was also created to show costumes and memorabilia from past productions.
The £1.5M project was completed in 2007
Since then the practice has been instructed to prepare schemes for further exciting projects to buildings and spaces in connection with the theatres activities, which are currently ongoing.
